Three Black Swans

Black Swans:
Events that are hugely important, rare and unpredictable, and explainable only after the fact.
This is a really good book, I definitely recommend it! You can look on youtube for a summary, if you type in the authors name and the book title. (How do you put a web address on so you can just click on it? Do you just type it regular? Someone please tell me:)).
I know how now! Click here to see the summary!

Hurricane Sandy

I am thankful that hurricane Sandy did not hit us hard. It's scary to look at all the pictures in New York. Here are some pictures I took during the storm:
These our the last flowers before the storm (this picture doesn't show near there full beauty:( )
This is actually a triple reflection. It was a picture taken into a window reflecting a lamp that was reflected in another window. I love how mystic it looks.
This is the same picture except with flash. Here you can see the rain drops on the window better.
I did not try to make this look like anything in particular. I was playing around with pictures of my flashlight (it was out ready for Sandy) shining on my dresser. This was just a cool angled picture. What does it look like to you? Let me know in the comments! My dad said it looked like a moon shining on the earth. And I think it looks like that also. It's amazing how just playing around with a flashlight and camera make such cool pictures.
I have an angel pin that I was also playing around with. I was doing shadows mostly. I love the angle in the picture above, along with the lighting (again my flashlight:))
Can you see the angel shadow?
There are leaves all over the ground outside! That last couple days I was really restless but........
I'm glad that I had my flashlight out during hurricane Sandy to enjoy taking pictures with:)!

The other night my family had a great devotions together. We read some verses and then lit candles in a dark room and prayed.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matt. 5:14

Hawk Mountain!

On a Sunday afternoon we went with our grandparents to Hawk Mountain so we could hike and observe the majestic birds.
Other animals/bugs we saw include one snake, one thousand legger, a walking stick, and several slow moving stink bugs.
The view from the top! I know the top one is foggy looking but it was zoomed in so you can see the fields and woods better.

Gorgeous leaves!

My family and grandparents!

"For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains
and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and
all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."
Isaiah 55:12 (NIV)

Snowflakes!

I got this great book out of the library that has awesome patterns for crocheting snowflakes!
Your can make anything from jewelry to scarves with these snowflakes.
