More Birds :)

When I visited my blog again after almost a year and found out my last post was about birds I smiled, because this summer I also captured some amazing pictures of birds that I wanted to share.

We had a robin nest in our rhododendron bush in the backyard (first three pictures), and our neighbor had a hummingbird nest in her tree (last picture).

It was exciting to watch the progression from eggs to hungry baby birds.

Such a tiny nest!

Goldfinches and Hummingbirds

Are you enjoying these beautiful days leading up to Fall? I know I have been. The only sad thing is that we closed our pool. :(
But I've been quite busy anyway. Despite my business I've been thankful for several opportunities to sit out on our deck for my devotions in the morning or my schoolwork during the day. Just a week or two ago I saw a pair of goldfinches and a hummingbird. Our family has actually seen quite a few hummingbirds since we put up a hummingbird feeder earlier on this summer, which has been exciting.

The close-ups are just cropped photos so you can see the birds close up.
I especially love this picture!

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

-Jesus, Matthew 6:25-34

This is definitely something I'm continually learning to do, as I often struggle with worrying too much and not trusting God.

New England Trip! (part 3)

Our last campsite was in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The reason our trip was planned for this time was because friends of ours invited us to hike up Mt Washington and Mt Lafayette with them. So when we realized that it would work we planned our New England trip around being in New Hampshire already. We got to New Hampshire a day before they would so we went on an extra hike.
We hiked the Pemi trail along the Pemigewassett River to this basin with the river flowing through the granite. We then did a loop so we got to see Lonesome Lake, though it's not pictured here.

The next day we hiked up Mt Washington!!!!!! It ended up being a little foggy, but it cleared up as we hiked down.

But the next day when we hiked up Mt Lafayette it was a gorgeous view.

That evening we left our campsite and stopped for a night at my mom's cousin's house before heading home on Sunday. We had a wonderful trip!

Bonus Pictures... :)
Here are some more pictures that my friend took on Mt Washington:

Stop
The area ahead has the worst weather in america.
Many have died there from exposure, even in the summer. Turn back now if the weather is bad.

My sister, my friend, and I got matching hiking boots (they were on sale, so why not? :))

After the hike!
