Cove Valley Camp

This past weekend we went Cove Valley Camp for a reunion. I was so excited to be their again, with the openness of it, the freedom, it was almost like soaring! And the mountains all around were beautiful, majestic. We canoed, fished, painted, played gaga ball, played at the playground, etc. There were also deer in a large fenced in area near our lodge, and there were fawns with them! They looked so cuddly and adorable and cute!

A day after we got back I found a hydrangeas mom had picked on the table! I knew our white ones were blooming but I didn't realize our pink ones were. Next year mom plans to put stuff in the soil to make them bloom blue, instead. We had been talking about this for awhile, and when she said she saw one that was already half blue, I ran out immediately to the side of our house to see it. Sure enough! Isn't it gorgeous!? I'm so excited because I love hydrangeas and this is our first year to have them at our house.

Verses from Matthew~

Here are some verses from Matthew to think about on this rainy day!

If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

~Matthew 5:46-47

Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' "

~Matthew 4:10

....But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

~Matthew 10:22b

A Day at my Grandparents house!

On Wednesday we set off with our cousins to our grandparents house, an hour and half away. We annually go to help them shell peas, and just to hang out there.
Perfect peapod lined with five perfect peas (in one pod I found nine good peas!)
Another thing we did was pick a few strawberries that my grandpa left for us to pick, and they were small, but super sweet! Dessert for supper was a strawberry pie! yum, the best☺
Beautiful lilies outside the house, and in a bouquet inside the house
My younger cousin enjoyed walking around inside and out, using her parents camera to take pictures of everything from flowers to, yep, dutch blitz cards when we played the game. It was fun to watch her.
In a hanging fern basket their porch was a nest with little birds in it! They looked so soft!

☺Meet my new sewing machine☺

"Everyone, meet my new sewing machine. My new sewing machine, meet everyone!" Well, new for me. I got it from my nana, who got another one and didn't need this any longer. It is on a small desk and it folds into the desk, amazingly disappearing! I do sew a little, but am still learning a lot. If anyone has any simple and fun patterns that I could use, let me know!

Youth Field Day!

On Saturday (from morning to late afternoon) my brother, my friend, and I went to a youth field day held by Lancaster County Sportsmen for Youth. They do it once a year on the first Saturday in June. Every year they rotate in between three different locations. Their were about 150 kids (ages 10-15) their, plus some parents. We were divided into groups and we went to different stations, spending a half hour at each, and lunch was provided. Anyway, we had a lot of fun and they do a great job with it, and I got to do a lot of new things!

Here is a list of the stations, if there is a star beside it I actually did it and if there isn't I just learned about it.
~Trapping
~Beagles (they talked about how beagles chase rabbits for hunters, and we got to pet them...so cute!)
~Game commision (they talked about their job)
~Outdoor Safety
~Different types of Tree Stands
~Waterfowl
~Fishing*
We ate lunch☺
~Canoeing*
~Fly fishing* (we did it but not for real in the water, just in the grass)
~Trap shooting (with shotgun)*
~Archery*
~Turkey hunting
~Shooting .22 Rifle*
~Muzzleloader*
~Predators(foxes and coyotes)

Here are some pictures...
Waterfowl: they led us through a demo with wooden guns and blinds(the things we were camouflaged in).
 Canoeing
Trap shooting: We shot at flying targets...I didn't do that great at this since it was my first time shooting a gun☺
These .22 rifles were much easier to shoot...why couldn't are group have done this before the trap shooting???☺
Shooting a muzzleloader! Poof, smoke in my face☺
This is archery, but I don't have a picture of me doing it, just my brother Seth.

French Creek State Park

On Sunday with our house church we went to French Creek. We ate lunch, waded in the water (I had a first there....a leech attached to my foot...interesting and gross☺), canoed, took walks, ect.

But first we watched a video with house church where a guy tells this same story, which I thought was a great comparison to our faith in God.

In the lake there were a lot of beautiful water lilies!
My friend did my hair in a fishtail braid
At the end of the afternoon when some others were playing frisbee golf, my sister and my friend and I were writing and drawing in the gravel....who knew it could be so fun???

My second oil painting

Here is my oil painting I just recently finished! I know it doesn't go with the season right now, but oh well☺.
