The Sand Dollar Story

       This is not in season but.... A couple years ago we went to Florida and guess what we found? Oh, you don't have to guess, you already know from looking at the title. Since you are now checking out the title now, and wondering about the story, I'll tell it to you. It's not my story actually, it's His story. The story of the sand dollar, I've always loved it since I first heard it.

There's a lovely little legend
that I would like to tell,
of the birth and death of Jesus,
found in this lowly shell.
If you examine closely,
you'll see that you find here, four nail holes and a fifth one,
made by a Roman's spear.

On one side the Easter lily,
its center is the star,that appeared unto the shepherds
and led them from afar.

The Christmas Poinsettia
etched on the other side,
reminds us of His birthday,
our happy Christmastide.

Now break the center open,
and here you will release,
the five white doves awaiting,
to spread Good Will and Peace.

This simple little symbol,
Christ left for you and me,
to help us spread His Gospel,
through all Eternity.

fall = pumpkins

Yippee! Fall is here...

 Pumpkins!!!!!! You can't have fall without them :).

 I love mums!! we have a bush of orange ones that are so pretty!

 I feel like I'm looking at an advertisement for some kind of hotel when I see this picture :). Turns out, it's my own room! :P Fresh, clean, fall fllowers!

I don't celebrate Halloween, but I love decorating pumpkins by painting or carving them! So here is my fall art. (Oh, well. This art is going to be on Selena's Reflections instead of Draw with Joye.)

 

Welcome to the Family!

Yay! We got a ferret....She's so cute! This is my sister holding her.

 Actually we got here for free from a friend who was keeping it until they could find a home for it. They were keeping it because they had acquired it from someone who found it outside, escaped from who knows where?

Squiggles is quite active and social. She likes tubes, toilet paper rolls, and doing the happy dance, which is when she hops around, bounces off furniture, and holds here mouth open slightly. (It's cute and fun to watch☺).

2 Corinthians 3:18

 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the spirit.

Several weeks ago we read 2 Corinthians 3:18 for devotions. We, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory,

I love that part! I think of it as an encouragement that we can reflect the Lord without being scared, without hiding, without being veiled.

 

Mom actually shared that this verse talks about Moses. He had to cover his face after talking with God, so the people wouldn't be scared, because Moses's face was so radiant from being with God. And also because the glory was fading and he didn't want the people to know. But we are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the spirit. So that we don't have to have veiled faces.

And for me, it's so encouraging to know that I am being transformed into His likeness, and becoming more like him, as I pray, and spend time with him.

Water Skiing!

Okay...So, I know I'm really late for posting this...we did it with our friends about three weeks ago!!!! 

The boat ride was so fun!!! I love the feeling of the wind in your face!
