New England Trip! (part 3)

 Our last campsite was in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The reason our trip was planned for this time was because friends of ours invited us to hike up Mt Washington and Mt Lafayette with them. So when we realized that it would work we planned our New England trip around being in New Hampshire already. We got to New Hampshire a day before they would so we went on an extra hike. 

 We hiked the Pemi trail along the Pemigewassett River to this basin with the river flowing through the granite. We then did a loop so we got to see Lonesome Lake, though it's not pictured here.

The next day we hiked up Mt Washington!!!!!! It ended up being a little foggy, but it cleared up as we hiked down.

 But the next day when we hiked up Mt Lafayette it was a gorgeous view.

 That evening we left our campsite and stopped for a night at my mom's cousin's house before heading home on Sunday. We had a wonderful trip!

My trip to Grenada

At the end of January I went with my dad to the YWAM base in Grenada, an island in the Caribbean. My dad taught at the discipleship training school on the character and nature of God, and I taught two mimes that they can use for ministry. I also got to see around a lot of this tiny island. We were gone for 10 days. 

Besides going just across the border of Canada (Niagara Falls) this was my first time out of the country. It was my first time to ride a big plane. It was my first time to teach a mime song. It was my first time to go snorkeling besides in a pool. It was my first time to eat the meat from a conch shell, eat passion fruit, and eat sugar cane. It was my first time to do a great many other things also! 

Going to Grenada with my dad was an amazing learning experience that holds many memories of places and people I will never forget! 

On our flight to Grenada we saw the sunset from the plane! It was gorgeous, and I loved flying.

On our first Saturday there we had some free time and so we went hiking. This flower is called sorrel, and you can make a juice/tea out of it. It's delicious.

and see a mona monkey named Jack. He sat on my shoulder! :)

Bathway Beach where we went snorkeling. We saw many different kinds of fish, a conch shell, other shells, coral, including brain coral, and sea urchins.

One of the staff on the YWAM base makes jewelry, mostly out of natural materials, and the things she makes are beautiful!

I was so sad to leave Grenada! One last look from the plane as we were leaving.

 In the U.S. once again!

It's so hard to share all that I experienced but hopefully you've gotten a little peek into my journey to Grenada and back!

Lake in the Clouds- a weekend with friends

I know my last post was 2 months ago... because I've been so busy with school and other things. I have some catching up to do I guess. :P Well, I'll post about three main things we did since then in the next three posts (counting this one)

So here are pictures from a weekend we had with friends at a lake house. We had a lot of fun in the kayaks, but I enjoyed the paddle board even more because it was my first time :) They also had a swan paddle boat thingy there; it made me smile every time I looked at it :)

It was a beautiful place to spend the weekend with friends...

One funny story about the kayaks: One time when I got out of an open kayak one of the others informed my that I had been sitting on a fish! When I turned and looked I found a minnow pancake flat where I had been sitting! It had apparently jumped in while I was kayaking...:) (ewww)

It felt like I was walking on water! :)

Ricketts Glen

A couple weekends ago we went camping at (guess where) Ricketts Glen with our friends. Ricketts Glen is famous for their waterfalls so we hiked along the trail to see them. They were gorgeous! I only have a couple pictures of them here but if you go to my brother's blog he posted a lot more waterfall pictures. So are my hiking pictures:

After hiking we went fishing-

 Aren't they so cute? Dad was walking around when he called me over to take a picture of these. They're so adorable!
